This lovely piece of decorated porcelain is a bucket list item. Decades ago, I wrote a list of things I wanted to achieve in my life. This item read: buy a piece of Belleek, green mark or older, in a secondhand shop in Ireland.
I wrote this list long before my first trip to Ireland in 2012, far closer to the year 2000 even. But this is the joy of lists like these, they are infinite and can change. Mine has done so several times over the years.
And its a pleasure every time I make a check mark.
(I know, very short post. I’m on holiday in Vancouver, BC before going offline for a week as I check off three other list items: seeing whales in the wild, seeing the Inside Passage, and visiting Alaska.)
